RBW stands for Resolution Bandwidth. The RBW determines how well closely spaced signals can be separated. The narrower the RBW filter the more clearly two close signals can be seen as separate signals. VBW stands for Video bandwidth. VBW helps improve the resolution of very weak signals in the presence of the noise signal. It smooths out the signal you are trying to see clearly.
